Welcome to The Inner Rink!

A newsletter about the psychology of performance, discipline, and greatness—on and off the ice.

“Every athlete knows the outer rink—the one with boards, lights, and fans. But there’s another one—the rink inside. It’s where confidence, composure, and focus are sharpened. That’s where greatness begins.”

Who is The Inner Rink For?

The Inner Rink is for the players, coaches, and high performers who want to train their minds the way they train their bodies—with purpose, structure, and intention.

  • Current athletes still chasing greatness who have mastered the physical game, but are ready to unlock the power of the mental one.

  • Former athletes rebuilding identity beyond the sport.

  • Competitors rediscovering purpose when the structure fades.

  • Anyone who knows discipline, focus, and resilience aren’t just sports traits—they’re life skills.

Who Are We?

The Inner Rink is written by Joseph and Jessica Drapluk—a brother–sister team who grew up chasing the same dream on the ice.

5 a.m. lessons. Long flights. Countless practices. The relentless pursuit of excellence.

One of us became a professional hockey player.
Both of us became lifelong students of the mental game.

We learned early that what separates good from elite isn’t talentit’s mindset.

Today, The Inner Rink combines Joseph’s experience as a pro athlete with Jessica’s background in psychology, functional medicine, and performance mindset to explore what it really takes to build greatness that lasts.

After navigating pro hockey without an agent, Joseph’s mission now is to be the guy he wished he had—mentoring the next generation on mindset, discipline, and staying sharp long after the ice melts.

This isn’t theory.

It’s what we lived, learned, and continue to practice—on and off the ice.

Our Promise To You

95% of athletes put in the physically demanding work—the outer rink.
But only a few ever step inside the inner rink—where composure, clarity, and confidence are built.

As a reader of The Inner Rink, we promise to give you more than motivation—we’re here to help you build mental structure, clarity, and discipline that lasts.

We’re here to help you!

Every article, note, story, and mindset lesson inside The Inner Rink is designed to help you:

  • Stay focused and composed under pressure.

  • Build resilience when life feels off your game.

  • Strengthen identity beyond performance or title.

  • Reconnect with who you are beyond the sport.

  • Train your mind with the same discipline you train your body.

  • Build mental toughness without burning out.

  • Understand the psychology of confidence, flow, and recovery.

This isn’t motivation. It’s mental performance.

Our goal is transformation.

To help you become the kind of person who doesn’t just win, but stays sharp, composed, and fulfilled long after the final buzzer.

We want every reader—free or paid—to walk away sharper, calmer, and more confident in their pursuit of purpose.

Because the truth is, the ice melts for everyone.

What remains is the mindset you built while it was frozen.

Welcome to The Inner Rink—where the real game begins.
